Southern Italian Cooking

Alongside Chef Jeff Sandino, we'll begin by unlocking the secret to the perfect marinara sauce and practice it's versatility in two classic Italian dishes. You'll prepare baked manicotti stuffed with mozzarella, parmesan, ricotta cheeses and fresh herbs along with eggplant parmesan, lightly breaded, sauteed, topped with a tomato and basil relish, covered with mozzarella cheese and baked to a bubbly golden brown. You'll learn to prepare traditional Italian style bruschetta and we'll finish with creme brulee, a rich, creamy custard with a crusty caramel glaze.

Founder of Flavors from Home, Jeff's love of food began at the Lincoln Del. He sought formal training at L'Hotel Sofitel in Bloomington MN and Houston TX. His 40+ year professional career has brought him to such spots as Buca di Beppo, Figlio, Sunsets on the Bay, My Pie Pizza and the Sunshine Factory to name a few. He's appeared on several cooking shows demonstrating his culinary wizardry, but his passion is teaching and demystifying the process of gourmet cooking.
