3D Printing: Build Your Own Robot Grades 4 - 8 3D Printing is here to stay! This class is for students who have no or limited experience with 3D Printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design, and see their creations come to life. Students will be learning the ropes of 3D modeling and printing and use Tinkercad to design parts for their robots. By the end of the week, they will have two DC-powered robots - a sketchbot and a drive bot. Students must be comfortable with using a laptop and mouse to design their creations. Drone Maker Engineering Camp Grades 4 - 8 The Drone Maker Engineering Camp is an engaging, hands-on experience that combines theory with practical application. Destination Mars: Rocketry Course Grades 2-5 Launch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make-and-take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts including: propulsion, thrust, lift, drag and more. We will also hypothesize about travel in outer space, how to get a United States astronaut to Mars, and life on Mars. NOTE: Parents will be asked to contribute two empty, 2-liter soda bottles. Summer Drama Camp Grades 5 - 8 Want to jump into the exciting world of theatre? Learn the ins and outs of being backstage, onstage, and how to create a character with Mary Todd Kaercher, GMS Musical Director, and a stellar group of guest teachers. Camp will be broken into small groups for a greater focus on developing our actors. Students will focus on improvisational acting techniques that work on presence, developing a character, team work.
