    Four Famous Ethnic cookies Learn to create the rolled Norwegian cookies, Krumkakes, made with cream, butter and cinnamon or sometimes flavored with vanilla. For generations, Minnesotans have purchased their irons to bake Krumkakes from local manufacturer Nordic Ware in St. Louis Park. Italian Pizzelles are also baked on top of the stove using an iron, but are flat, anise-flavored cookie or they may also be flavored with vanilla. The chewy, Swedish Sandbakkelse are delicate golden brown in color and are baked in tiny tins to resemble tarts. Finally, we will master deep-fried Rosettes - those exceedingly fragile, paper thin Scandinavian delicacies dusted with confectioners' sugar. expect great recipes plus the many tips and techniques that will make your baking a success! Gingerbread House Bake and Build Have some fun participating in this live virtual family fun bake-along class, as you bake and build your own gingerbread house together! Start a new holiday family tradition and create lifelong memories as you bring your family together to create a show-stopping edible work of art! Together, we will combine the wonderful flavors of gingerbread and use the dough to create the pieces that will be used to “build” breathtaking houses, and make the stiff Royal Icing that will hold everything together and be used as the “glue” to decorate your houses with candies and delicious treats. Participants will receive a list of ingredients at least a week in advance of the class to allow time for shopping and preparation. Participants will also receive a template that will need to be printed and cut out before class to be used as a “pattern” to cut out the gingerbread before it is baked. We will be using the Instructor’s Gingerbread Recipe for these houses that she has tested time and time again to ensure the cookie pieces are delicious but strong enough to hold the weight of the frosting and decorations as well. Holiday Copycat Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls and Hot Cocoa Bombs Homemade sweets and treats are always wonderful around the holidays and throughout the year as well. Texan Savory & European Sweet Have you ever been to Texas and experienced the joy of having a Texan Kolache? Have no idea as to what a sweet or savory Kolache is? Wonder no more! A Texan Kolache is a wonderful fluffy extra-large, mildly sweet baked doughnut, stuffed with choice of sausage and other fillings such as cheese. Generally, an oversized gourmet pig-in-a-blanket but unlike any other pig-in-a-blanket you have ever had. Next Level Pierogi: Festive Fillings and Dough Start a new holiday tradition or build on one as you learn to create your own Festive Pierogi for the holidays and the whole year through. When registering for this fun filled virtual class you are signing up to learn how to make a variety of homemade doughs and a variety of fillings for the pierogi that will make your taste buds dance for joy; continue to read for details.     Northern Italian Dinner Our evening feast will start with two classic appetizers: prosciutto-wrapped melon and Spiedini alla Romana with prosciutto ham and mozzarella. Then we will create a classic white risotto with Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and a risotto with dried porcini mushrooms. The winter vegetable dish, Cicorie alla Griglia, will be made with grilled Belgian endive and will accompany our main dish, Chicken Cacciatora (Pollo alla Cacciatora). To wrap up the evening, we will master the delicious twice-baked almond cookie, Biscotti. Holiday Cookie Bake and Decorate! Foundations of Royal Icing Are you looking to start or continue a holiday cookie baking and decorating tradition? Consider registering for this online, live, family fun holiday cookie class for beginners. Gather your family for baking and decorating, or treat yourself to some quality personal fun time. Learn how to make Royal Icing and the basics for decorating cookies with it at home. Participants will be baking the cookies ahead of time so that they are ready to decorate at the start of class. A PDF with two of the instructor’s personal sugar cookie recipes, and a list of ingredients and supplies needed for the Royal Icing will be provided at least a week before the class, to provide time for shopping and baking. The recipes will include a soft and chewy sugar cookie, and a denser crisp sugar cookie. Participants can choose to bake one or the other or both using cookie cutters of choice. One of the instructor’s favorite holiday cookie cutter shapes is a gingerbread person. This is one shape that proves to be a lot of fun to decorate year after year and some time will definitely be spent on this in addition to other holiday shapes. On the pizza menu for this class: Family Fun Pizza Boats, Pizza Party Pizza Twists, the very popular Detroit-Style Pan Pizza, and an out-of-this-world Pizza Sauce. Three homemade pizza crusts will be used to create the pizza options for the class. The instructor will provide step-by-step guidance and instruction help to ensure the process is a simple as can be. Participants can personalize their pizzas with pizzazz with toppings of their choosing. All recipes have been created by the instructor, and tested time and time again over the years, to ensure maximum flavor and ease.
