Early Childhood is made up of programs for families with children ages birth to kindergarten.
The Westonka Community Preschool is a school readiness program, emphasizing activities in all areas of growth and learning.
is recommended for all children when they reach age three years. It's purpose is to affirm a child's development and identify any early needs for educational assistance, and is also a requirement for kindergarten enrollment.
We offer a 4-week class for new parents and their infants 0-12 months where we'll talk about all the developmental milestones and the joys and concerns of raising an infant.
This category offers classes for children and their families in a wider range of ages.
this lcass is designed for children and their parents. It is for children who are almost three years old or who have already turned three but are not yet ready for preschool.
We offer our two year old's the opportunity to have a child-only day, and for our two year old's who are older and ready to separate, we have a Two Dayer class for 33+ months and their caregiver.
We have several family events that allow children of mixed ages and their families to interact together.
Toddlers are movers and shakers and we offer weekly classes that give them the opportunity to do so while you learn valuable information how to help your young learner grow and develop. These are parent-child classes for toddlers ages 13-23 months.
We offer weekly classes that are gradually separating for parents and their two year olds.
American Red Cross Lifeguard classes
Ages 15 and up
The American Red Cross Lifeguarding course teaches the knowledge and skills needed to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatics emergencies. Upon completion participants will receive an American Red Cross certification for LIfeguarding/First Aid/CPR & AED for the Professional Rescuer valid for two years.
This course is a blended learning course with online course work completed prior to the in-person class
Participants must complete approximately 10 hours of online learning prior to the first in-person class at the Westonka pool. The instructor will email out a registration link to access the Red Cross online content about one week prior to the class. Participants must provide evidence of successful completion of the online learning at the first class.
American Red Cross Lifeguard requirements to obtain certification:
Complete the prerequisites for the Lifeguard training class:
Pass the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguard skills final exams with a minimum of 80%
