Adult Basic Education & English Language Learners

Westonka Community Education and Services is a member of the WEST ABE Consortium. For more information, visit westabe.org. 

ABE and ELL classes are free and ongoing, but do require advance registration. To register or for more information, visit westonkace.org or call 952.491.8040. Classes are held in the Western Communities Action (WeCAN) building, 5213 Shoreline Dr., Mound.


*Rewarding Volunteer Opportunities*

Make a difference in your community. As a volunteer, you can help adult learners reach their goals. Work with adult students as they learn English, prepare for the GED, get citizenship, learn computer skills, and more. No experience or diploma needed. We provide training and support. Time commitment: one to six hours per week. Must be 18 years old to volunteer. For more information Elizabeth at 763-682-8507.



GED Preparation

General Education Development (GED) is a self-paced program designed to help you study and prepare to take the GED test. GED is available for adults ages 16 years and older. The GED credential increases opportunities for employment, job advancement, and further education.
