Early Childhood is made up of programs for families with children ages birth to kindergarten.
The Westonka Community Preschool is a school readiness program, emphasizing activities in all areas of growth and learning.
is recommended for all children when they reach age three years. It's purpose is to affirm a child's development and identify any early needs for educational assistance, and is also a requirement for kindergarten enrollment.
We offer a 4-week class for new parents and their infants 0-12 months where we'll talk about all the developmental milestones and the joys and concerns of raising an infant.

this lcass is designed for children and their parents. It is for children who are almost three years old or who have already turned three but are not yet ready for preschool.
We offer our two year old's the opportunity to have a child-only day, and for our two year old's who are older and ready to separate, we have a Two Dayer class for 33+ months and their caregiver.
We have several family events that allow children of mixed ages and their families to interact together.
Toddlers are movers and shakers and we offer weekly classes that give them the opportunity to do so while you learn valuable information how to help your young learner grow and develop. These are parent-child classes for toddlers ages 13-23 months.
We offer weekly classes that are gradually separating for parents and their two year olds.
Early Childhood Screening is recommended for all children between the ages of 3-5 years. The best age to screen at is roughly 3 years 6 months. Its purpose is to affirm a child's development and identify any early needs for educational assistance or community resources. It is a snapshot of your child on that particular day and time, not a predictor of future success. It is also a state requirement in order to attend Kindergarten at a public schools in the state of Minnesota. (However, you can choose to be a conscientious objector. To do this, we ask that you contact the Program Coordinator at 952-491-8580 or grimms@westonka.k12.mn.us) This free screening includes a review of all growth and development, immunizations, hearing and vision.
Appointments should take approximately one hour to complete and are held at the Educational Service Center, 5901 Sunnyfield Road, Minnetrista in the lower level of the building. Enter on the east side of the building. We ask that you take the following measures prior to your child's screening appointment:
