    Mound Westonka Middle School Tennis Hitting Clinics: For middle school players entering Grades 5 - 8 in Fall 2024 We focus on improving fundamental skills of tennis, along with singles and doubles strategies. Coached by Varsity and JV coaches Paul and Reinbold, players participate in drills and competitive games and matches to improve their tennis game. Each 60 minute session also includes activities to improve footwork, agility, & endurance.     Mound Westonka Boys and Girls Middle School Camp Entering Grades 5-8 This is a week-long camp that is designed to introduce and practice all fundamental strokes of tennis. Players get the opportunity to learn how to hit each stroke and then practice each stroke hitting off ball machines and playing in competitive drills with players of the same ability level. Join Coach Paul and Coach Reinbold the Varsity boys and girls tennis coaches, as they introduce and drill the basic strokes of tennis. If the numbers get large we will split the boys and girls and run two different sessions.     Softball Hitting Camp Ages 10 - 15 Come join this Summer hitting camp to build a great swing during your Summer season and into Fall tryouts. This camp runs June and July and will help each players understand and recognize the best hitting mechanics and realize them in their own swing. Players who understand their own swing and can troubleshoot objectively and without emotion are the most consistent and successful hitters.     Sponsor a Student Scholarship Program donation ~ Community Education plays a vital role in creating a healthy and vibrant community. Individual and family lives are enhanced through programs and activities that not only educate, but entertain, motivate and rejuvenate. This past year has been challenging for so many families due to the pandemic. Many families are struggling financially and emotionally. Because of this they are unable to enroll their children into educational and recreational programs that provide so many benefits to their children. Community Education classes allow students to learn social and emotional skills, provides hands-on learning that encourages skill building, physical skill development, fitness and so much more. You can help a family by donating to the Sponsor a Student Scholarship program. Your donation will be used for the sole purpose of financially assisting a student to enroll in a community education class or activity.     Destination Mars: Rocketry Course Grades 2-5 Launch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make-and-take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts including: propulsion, thrust, lift, drag and more. We will also hypothesize about travel in outer space, how to get a United States astronaut to Mars, and life on Mars. NOTE: Parents will be asked to contribute two empty, 2-liter soda bottles.     Summer Drama Camp Grades 5 - 8 Want to jump into the exciting world of theatre? Learn the ins and outs of being backstage, onstage, and how to create a character with Mary Todd Kaercher, GMS Musical Director, and a stellar group of guest teachers. Camp will be broken into small groups for a greater focus on developing our actors. Students will focus on improvisational acting techniques that work on presence, developing a character, team work.
