    Early Childhood Screening is recommended for all children between the ages of 3-5 years. The best age to screen at is roughly 3 years 6 months. Its purpose is to affirm a child's development and identify any early needs for educational assistance or community resources.     ECFE Summer Camp Ages birth to five and caregiver Outdoor learning and activity fun are the main focus of this class. Join us outside as we pretend to camp, ride our bikes, play with chalk and do all the things we love to do outside in the summer. Each class you will meet the ECFE staff outside in our nature based play area where we will play and learn, we encourage you to wear your play clothes.     GMS Band Camp Entering Grades 5 These camps are for students who want to get a head start for the upcoming school year. Students in the beginner group will learn the basics of their instrument in a combination of large and small group sessions. These include how to care for their instrument, putting the instrument together, getting a good tone, and how to work together. Small group sessions will be led by experts on woodwinds, brass, and percussion instruments. Students in the advanced group will have the opportunity to continue their progress on their chosen instrument in the same type of small and large groups.     Grandview Middle School Musical - Newsies Jr. Grades 5 - 8 Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies Jr. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Including the now-classic songs "Carrying the Banner," "Seize the Day," and "Santa Fe," Newsies Jr. is a timeless story full of spirit and heart. All students must be registered prior to audition Auditions for Grades 5 and 6 will take place Wednesday, September 11, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and Grades 7 and 8 will take place Thursday, September 12 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. All auditions will begin in the GMS Cafeteria. A rehearsal schedule will be sent home and updated on Schoology to allow for family scheduling. Rehearsals will be Monday - Friday, but not every character will have rehearsal each day. Actors are allowed three missed rehearsals with prior notice to the directors. Any more missed rehearsals will be reviewed by the directors and subject to removal from the cast without a refund. An informational meeting will be held on Monday, September 23 at 5:00 pm in the GMS Cafeteria. Performances are Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22 at 7 pm, Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 at 2 pm at the Westonka Performing Arts Center.
