Early Childhood is made up of programs for families with children ages birth to kindergarten.
The Westonka Community Preschool is a school readiness program, emphasizing activities in all areas of growth and learning.
is recommended for all children when they reach age three years. It's purpose is to affirm a child's development and identify any early needs for educational assistance, and is also a requirement for kindergarten enrollment.
We offer a 4-week class for new parents and their infants 0-12 months where we'll talk about all the developmental milestones and the joys and concerns of raising an infant.

this lcass is designed for children and their parents. It is for children who are almost three years old or who have already turned three but are not yet ready for preschool.
We offer our two year old's the opportunity to have a child-only day, and for our two year old's who are older and ready to separate, we have a Two Dayer class for 33+ months and their caregiver.
We have several family events that allow children of mixed ages and their families to interact together.
Toddlers are movers and shakers and we offer weekly classes that give them the opportunity to do so while you learn valuable information how to help your young learner grow and develop. These are parent-child classes for toddlers ages 13-23 months.
We offer weekly classes that are gradually separating for parents and their two year olds.
Westonka Community Education & Services is a member of the West ABE Consortium. For more information, visit westabe.org. Adult Basic Education and English Language Learner classes are free and ongoing, but do require advance registration.
Classes are held at the Western Communities Action (WeCAN building), 5213 Shoreline Drive, Mound. Some classes may be held virtually as well. For more information, call 952.491.8029.
GED Preparation
General Education Development (GED) is a self-paced program designed to help you study and prepare to take the GED test. GED is available for ages 16 years and older. Please note, 16 & 17 year olds will need an age waiver with parent consent and not be enrolled in high school (16 year old students are required to wait until age 17 to take test). Students 18 and older can take tests without restrictions. The GED credential increases opportunities for employment, job advancement, and further education.
