This category offers classes for children and their families in a wider range of ages.
this lcass is designed for children and their parents. It is for children who are almost three years old or who have already turned three but are not yet ready for preschool.
We offer our two year old's the opportunity to have a child-only day, and for our two year old's who are older and ready to separate, we have a Two Dayer class for 33+ months and their caregiver.
We have several family events that allow children of mixed ages and their families to interact together.
Toddlers are movers and shakers and we offer weekly classes that give them the opportunity to do so while you learn valuable information how to help your young learner grow and develop. These are parent-child classes for toddlers ages 13-23 months.
We offer weekly classes that are gradually separating for parents and their two year olds.
Learn to Swim * Wednesday evenings * Winter Session
Parent & Child Water Exploration
Two to Three Year old
This class is for the eager swimmer who still needs to be accompanied by a parent in the water. Swimmers will enjoy water activities, songs, and games similar to the water adjustment class, but take it up a level to include full submersion in the water (up to four seconds), lying on their back with ears submerged (up to 30 seconds), and more advanced forward movement with arms and legs. Children will continue to explore blowing bubbles, submersion of mouth, nose, ears, and eyes, floating on their front and back, arm and leg movement in the water, changing positions in the water, and feeling safe in the aquatic environment. Throughout the session, parents will be asked to take a step back and have the child work with the instructor more with the parent watching close by. Parents will learn how to enter and exit the water safety with their little swimmer, setting up a cueing system for child entry into the water, and proper life jacket safety for infant & toddlers.
* Please note: children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper & a snug fitting swim bottom over the swim diaper.
