Destination Imagination (Grades 2-12)
Grades 2 - 12
Destination Imagination (DI) is a worldwide, creative, problem-solving, team competition geared toward helping kids develop a variety of life-skills, while getting hands-on experiences. DI offers high-quality, STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) Challenges that help bridge the gap between what students learn in school and the skills they will need to thrive in an ever-changing economy. Teams will have opportunities to compete, be ranked, and advance through Regional and Affiliate competition levels. Start a team with your friends, or join a team and make new ones. Teams consist of three to seven members and the team will decide when and where they will practice. DI challenge materials are not released until September 1 and new teams will be formed after that date, or as soon as they get registered. Volunteer team managers are needed for this program. Training and support is available for all team managers, and each volunteer must complete a background check. More information will be given out after teams have been formed and registered. Team challenge materials, regional tournament and state tournament fees, and team t-shirts are included in the cost of registration. Check out www.idodi.org or www.mndi.org for more DI information. Please register no later than Friday, November 19, so teams can start practicing.
