Adventure Club Child Care
Early Childhood is made up of programs for families with children ages birth to kindergarten.
The Westonka Community Preschool is a school readiness program, emphasizing activities in all areas of growth and learning.
is recommended for all children when they reach age three years. It's purpose is to affirm a child's development and identify any early needs for educational assistance, and is also a requirement for kindergarten enrollment.
We offer a 4-week class for new parents and their infants 0-12 months where we'll talk about all the developmental milestones and the joys and concerns of raising an infant.
This category offers classes for children and their families in a wider range of ages.
this lcass is designed for children and their parents. It is for children who are almost three years old or who have already turned three but are not yet ready for preschool.
We offer our two year old's the opportunity to have a child-only day, and for our two year old's who are older and ready to separate, we have a Two Dayer class for 33+ months and their caregiver.
We have several family events that allow children of mixed ages and their families to interact together.
Toddlers are movers and shakers and we offer weekly classes that give them the opportunity to do so while you learn valuable information how to help your young learner grow and develop. These are parent-child classes for toddlers ages 13-23 months.
We offer weekly classes that are gradually separating for parents and their two year olds.
Westonka Community Theatre Children's Playhouse
presents
Summer Camp - a musical caper about finding a place to belong
Grades 2 - 12Director, Heidi Richardson-Duggan
Come play in the Westonka Community Theatre's Children's Playhouse. We work and play to put together a show in seven rehearsals. Let's learn, make friends, and put on a show! Actors must be prepared to take direction and work hard. Tryouts for roles will be held on Thursday, February 5 from 4:00 - 6:30 pm at the Westonka High School's Little Theater. Students need to be prepared to stay the entire time that evening. There will be cast assignments made, a group music practice, and some theater games. Rehearsal on Friday, February 6 will run from 4:00 - 7:00 pm and will focus on learning the music. Monday - Thursday, February 9 - 12 will run from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with a 15-minute break halfway through the rehearsal for dinner. Elementary students will be walked over from Hilltop Primary School. Shirley Hills students may take the transfer bus to Hilltop and then walk over with the group. Westonka Middle School students may take their assigned bus directly to the High School and meet Director Heidi Richardson Duggan at 3:00 pm each day. Transportation questions will be asked at the time of registration. Please pack a water bottle and light meal each day. We kindly ask that families try to keep conflicts to just one during the rehearsal process, unless your child is ill. Please note that we’re unable to allow planned absences from February 12-14, and students should only miss a performance if they are truly not feeling well. Thank you so much for your understanding. All rehearsals will take place at the WHS Little Theatre. This program fills quickly, so please register early!
Performances will be Friday, February 13 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, February 14 at 10:30 am at WHS Little Theatre
On Friday, February 13, a dress rehearsal will begin at 4:00 pm prior to that evening's performance. Students should pack a dinner for that evening and come to school that day prepared with all their performance materials.
Tickets will be available to purchase at the door prior to the performance. Ticket sales help cover the costs of the musical as there are many costs involved in putting on a performance such as this, just like at any level of theater. We appreciate your support in helping wonderful programs like this succeed!
