Westonka Youth Football | Tackle Football (Entering Grade 5)FootballWestonka Youth Football | Tackle Football Entering Grade 5 Grades 5 & 6 Tackle Football evaluations are on August 11 and 12 at 6:00 pm. Practices start Thursday, August 14, on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, shifting to Tuesday and Thursday after Labor Day. Games begin post-Labor Day on Saturdays, lasting 90 minutes. The season ends October 11. Westonka Youth Football provides game jerseys, which must be returned at season’s end. Jerseys that are not returned at the end of the season will incur an $85 replacement fee. Required Player Equipment: Parents must purchase white football pants with pads, a white helmet with a hard chin strap, cleats (no metal), shoulder pads, mouthguards, and a red or white practice jersey. A protective cup is optional. Game jerseys are provided, distributed before games, and must be returned at season’s end. Twice per week during June and July, it is designed to improve their game by working on individual skills and applying them to game situations. Every session will have components designed to develop solid fundamentals, team and positional awareness, all while improving conditioning. This is a co-ed program, where girls will train in their own group, separate from the boys.
