With an emphasis on hands-on learning, this First Aid / CPR / AED course gives you the skills to save a life. Training meets OSHA's Best Practices for Workplace First Aid training for the infant, child and adult. Skills include how to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in all ages, CPR, use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and choking. First Aid will include wounds, and bandaging, burns, head, muscle, bone and joint injuries, heat and cold emergencies, poisonings, and sudden illnesses. Upon completing this course, you will receive a two-year certification.     Adult Enrichment | VOCE Community Choir Please join us for an exciting choral opportunity. Voce is an SATB mixed choral ensemble that is open to experienced singers who are 18+. No audition is necessary, although prior high school or college singing experience and sight-reading skills are greatly advised. The mission of this choir is to provide singers an opportunity to sing quality repertoire, at a high level, and have a rewarding adult choral experience. We will share our concert programs with the community of Mound at local venues. Donations collected at concerts will help support non-profit organizations within our community. Through singing, we can connect, share the gift of music, and give back to the community. Discount offered for enrolling in both sessions! This inaugural season, VOCE Community Chorus will perform various new classical choral music by wonderful composers including, Ola Gjeilo, Jake Runestad, Craig Hella Johnson, Susan LaBarr, and Kyle Pederson.     Sourdough Bread Making The class will start you in the first steps of preparing the dough. You will take your dough home to finish proofing and bake the next day. Sourdough starter will be provided, along with bread flour, and a few other items to take home. You will need to bring a glass bowl and a digital scale to class. To finish your bread at home, you will need a Dutch oven and or something similar, a cotton towel (not terry cloth), a very sharp knife or razor blade and parchment paper.     Intermediate Woodcarving: Santa Claus Ages 13 - Adult Instructor: Matt Bruch Ho, ho, ho! Carve your very own Santa Claus ornament in this intermediate woodcarving course with instructor Matt Bruch. This class is best suited for students with some carving experience. Students will transform a basswood block into a carved and painted ornament using traditional Scandinavian woodcarving methods. We will leverage basic knife grips from past courses and examine more advanced techniques for carving refined details. Participants are expected to bring their own knife and safety glove to class. We will cover knife maintenance and sharpening, so bring your strop if you have one. Please see the special notes below regarding required tools and how to purchase them. Materials (wood blanks, wire, paint, brushes, and wax) will be provided. Additional blanks will be available for cash purchase in class.
